Eggs on Gainsborough

Watercolor Some time ago I picked up a beautiful antique volume of Gainsborough’s paintings and drawings. The color and shape of the brown eggs were just perfect in the silver goblet, as well as sitting on the red-brown of the leather binding of the book. I chose the background to mimic Gainsborough’s drawings.

Juicy Curves

Watercolor I love the long warm days of summer, along with the fruits and colors of that time of year. I used complementary colors and variety of shapes in this composition to express the importance of that feeling.

Blessings

Watercolor A mother and child painting, in which I used my beautiful daughter-in-law and grandson as models. The photograph of them was taken on his Blessing Day. In this painting, I layered objects inside and behind the cloche-jar to create depth in space and meaning.
